Today we got started. And here I am, on the other side of what in effect was just a simple meet and greet, somehow knowing that actually, today was in effect, a birthing of sorts.
I think back to all the promptings in my spirit over the years. This MICIgirls connection has been like all the rest, but different too. The minute I laid eyes on Janelle's website probably 6 months ago, my spirit said, Yes ! It beamed beauty, originality, simplicity and spunk, and a clear unapologetic message that we women are made in the image of Christ. Talking with Janelle this week, the creator and director of MICI, was one of those sacred, joy-filled, like-hearted occasions that have you sensing there are angels close by and a Father in heaven beaming pleasure.
So God said to postpone my own dreams just for a bit, because MICIgirls is for us, and it's for now!
Sometimes I pump up the music in the car or the kitchen, and my own two girls and we grab our imaginary microphones and sing right into each other's souls, "I wanna see you be brave."
Well, today was brave for us. There's a back story for every one of our leaders, of course. One that's required that powerful combination of faith and courage and submission to his tweaking of our lives. But it was easy too. In the end, we're simply caught up in what God is doing, and it's all rather fun.
It turns out each of us had some form of little meltdown this morning. But by midday we were sitting around a table together, strengthening ourselves in the Lord again, laying aside the clutter in our minds and hearts, and we did it! We drank tea, we got busy, we prayed, and we made a beautiful welcome for the girls.
